Preferences Abby has a curious nature and shows a genuine affection towards those who are familiar to her. She is non verbal but is developing her communication style. Abby’s daily routine regularly includes movement and auditory stimulation. She enjoys staying active around her home, going for car rides, and listening to loud music. She also stays active by playing catch with a ball and enjoying her water fountain. Abby is at her happiest when she's dancing or making pizza! Abby tends to avoid visual and tactile sensory input. She is sensitive to certain fabrics and may choose to wear minimal clothing for comfort. She prefers the company of familiar people and values having her personal space respected. Living goals Abby is currently working on developing her communication style and learns through modelling from staff. She would like to be more independent in building her household tasks. Her goal is to be able to access the community more frequently in a safe manner. Flatmate preferences It would be preferable for Abby to share with a female co-resident who is of similar age. |
Home living environment | Activities Support staff actively encourage participation in community outings and activities. Regular outings include walks, trips to the supermarket, and having lunch in the park. Within the home, residents are encouraged to take part in daily household tasks such as cooking, doing the laundry, cleaning, and organizing groceries, promoting engagement and routine. Skills development Skill development is supported through involvement in household chores, which help build independence. Staff also promote communication skills and encourage physical activities, such as dancing together, as a fun way to stay active and engaged. Household routine Abby is an early riser but enjoys taking a nap during the day. Visits to the park or going for a walk are a regular occurrence after meal times. |
