Profile

Michael is a 59 year old male of Greek descent. While his communication skills are limited, he enjoys being included in conversations and social interactions.

Preferences

Michael loves foods and takes great interest in watching carers prepare his coffee, bake pies and cakes, and cook meals. He enjoys spending time in his courtyard, where he appreciates the plants his family has provided. With some support, he likes to water the plants. Michael also enjoys going on short walks and visiting the local shops.

Michael dislikes long waiting times, crowded spaces, walking long distances and loud environments.

Living goals

Michael would like to improve communication skills and would like to learn how to use his iPad more effectively as a communication tool. He aims to build his self-esteem and form positive, supportive relationships with carers and his housemates.

Flatmate preferences

Michael is happy to share with a mature aged co-resident.

Home living environment

Activities

Within the home Michael is supported by carers for daily living skills. Michael’s daily activities include swimming and water exercise, visiting Chesterfield Farm, spending time with his family and shopping at the local shopping centre.

Skills development

Michael is encouraged to build his skills through tasks such as helping to water the plants.

Household routine

Michael is an early riser and after breakfast, he often enjoys watching television. In the afternoon, Michael typically rests, and in the evening, he may relax by watching TV, watering his plants, or going for a walk around the block. As he prepares for bed, he may listen to music to wind down.
